Here’s an Inside Look at Trail Blazers Guard C.J. McCollum’s Dribbling and Shooting Workout
Portland Trail Blazers guard C.J. McCollum is a rising star in the NBA.
After winning the league’s Most Improved Player Award last season, McCollum is training to continue his solid play for the Blazers. According to the team’s YouTube account, McCollum has been working out five days a week this off-season.
On Wednesday, McCollum posted a video on Snapchat showing him performing dribbling and shooting drills.
[youtube video=”zitn7bZXEQM”/]During the dribbling drills, McCollum uses resistance bands to improve his change of direction and explosiveness. He also does a drill in which he dribbles a ball in one hand while someone tosses him another ball so he can switch hands.
During the shooting drills, McCollum works on the pick and roll, passing the ball to the roll man. After McCollum passes the ball, another person passes him the ball for a shot.

McCollum also does some fancy layups during the workout, tossing the ball high in the air for a floater. Last season, he proved himself one of the league’s top up-and-coming guards, averaging a career-high 20.8 points per game on 44.8 percent shooting and 41.7 percent from long range.
Coming off a career season, McCollum is using his workouts to continue to improve as one of the league’s best shooting guards.
