Likely First Overall NBA Draft Pick Ben Simmons Signs With LeBron’s Agency
The newest member of LeBron James’s team has arrived in Cleveland, but he’s not wearing a Cavaliers uniform.
Ben Simmons, the potential first overall pick in the 2016 NBA Draft, has signed with the James-funded Klutch Sports Agency. The former LSU Tiger sat courtside with Klutch agent Rich Paul for the Cavs game Wednesday night against the Milwaukee Bucks.
Simmons announced his decision to sign with Klutch in a video posted Wednesday afternoon to James’s Uninterrupted site on Bleacher Report.
“For me that’s a big step in the right direction. I believe that’s another family for me,” Simmons said in the video. “Now it’s all about putting in that hard work and getting myself ready for that next level.”
Adrian Wojnarowski of The Vertical reported last week that Klutch was the only agency Simmons considered, and that the arrangement had been in place for more than a year. Simmons will train for pre-draft activities in either Cleveland or Los Angeles, according to league sources.
The 6-foot-10 Australian joins a Klutch client roster headlined by James, Eric Bledsoe and recently-signed John Wall.
