No one expected the ball to go in the hoop when Marvey’o Otay of William Byrd High School saved it from going out of bounds with a behind-the-back fling during a basketball game last Tuesday. Otay didn’t even realize he had scored until several seconds after the ball found the basket, because his momentum carried him completely out of the gym.

Lucky for him, someone captured the crazy save-to-the-basket shot so he could later see what everyone was cheering about. Although his shot put Otay and William Byrd HS on SportsCenter, the team lost to Cave Spring 76-69.[youtube video=”FtJ62NIFfZA” /]
