President Obama Tells Cavs’ J.R. Smith to Put a Shirt On
With the Cleveland Cavaliers’ championship festivities dying down a bit, guard J.R. Smith will probably finally put a shirt on following a playful request from President Obama.

The President typically invites championship teams to the White House, and he called coach Tyronn Lue on Thursday to congratulate his team for defeating the Golden State Warriors in the NBA Finals. But he also mentioned that players such as Smith, Iman Shumpert and Kyrie Irving need to wear shirts.
“Tell J.R. and everybody to put on a shirt,” Obama said. “You can’t just be walking around without a shirt like that for a whole week. Now Shumpert’s taking off his shirt, Kyrie’s taking off his shirt. Come on, man.”

Smith didn’t wear a shirt from the time the Cavs won the title Sunday to the parade on Wednesday, wearing one only briefly before the parade.

Obama has always had a playful swagger. He’s talked trash to Michael Jordan in defense of his golfing skills, and Kobe Bryant said on Ellen DeGeneres’ talk show in 2012 that Obama talks trash on the basketball court.
If Obama is telling Smith to put on a shirt, Smith should probably do so. Because if he comes to the White House shirtless, Obama may have to have a serious talk with the Cavs guard.
