It forces you to be quick on your feet to reach the ball in many places across the court, and requires you to adjust your swing to make a solid return.
Hand Toss Drill
- Assume a ready position at the baseline
- A partner, standing 6-8 feet in front of you, bounces balls randomly around the court
- Adjust your feet to meet the ball and complete a groundstroke
- Continue making forward, backward, and lateral movements to reach each ball
