Adam Sandler stars as Max, a shoe repairman who experiences the lives of his customers, in the big screen dramedy The Cobbler. Watch the trailer below.
At the beginning of the film, Max is bored and dissatisfied with his life, and he longs to switch places with some of his more glamorous patrons. He is given the power to make his dreams come true when he discovers that, by wearing the shoes he repairs, he can actually become the person who owns them. Of course, Max has all kinds of misadventures due to these magic shoes.
The supporting cast is impressive, featuring Ellen Barkin (Ocean’s Thirteen), Dan Stevens (A Walk Among the Tombstones), Dustin Hoffman and Sandler’s frequent co-star Steve Buscemi.
The movie was written and directed by actor/filmmaker Thomas McCarthy, whose recent screenwriting credits include the sports drama Million Dollar Arm.
The Cobbler made its debut at the Toronto International Film Festival earlier this year and is expected to be released in theaters in 2015.
