Six months ago, Pittsburgh Steelers running back Le’Veon Bell caught a swing pass from Ben Roethlisberger. As he turned to accelerate up the field, two Cincinnati Bengals defenders dragged him to the ground, trapping his right leg underneath him. Bell ended up with a torn MCL, knocking him out for the season and leveling a severe blow to the Steelers’ championship aspirations.

Though the Steelers still made it to the AFC Divisional round of the playoffs, losing to the eventual Super Bowl champion Denver Broncos, Bell’s playmaking abilities in both the running and passing game were sorely missed. Now, six months after his initial surgery, Bell is giving Steelers fans a glimpse at how far along he is in his recovery.

The 6-foot-1 running back posted the above video to his Twitter account, showing him bouncing a basketball off the backboard, grabbing it in mid-air and throwing it down something fierce.

Any concerns about Bell’s explosiveness being compromised after surgery should quickly be laid to rest after seeing him throw down a dunk worthy of the NBA’s Slam Dunk Contest.
