Watch NFL Prospect Forrest Lamp Belt Squat Close to 900 Pounds
Former Western Kentucky offensive lineman Forrest Lamp not only has the best name in the 2017 NFL Draft, the dude can throw some weight around. Standing 6-foot-4 and weighing 309 pounds, Lamp put up 34 reps on the Bench Press at the NFL Combine. As he continues to train ahead of the Draft, you can see how much power Lamp can generate from his lower body, too.
That’s a big man moving some big weight!@WKUFootball‘s @flamp76 is getting right with less than three weeks until the #NFLDraft! pic.twitter.com/0e7zG0ljFb

In the video above, Lamp performs the Belt Squat, an exercise that loads the hips instead of the upper body, as does a typical Squat, allowing Lamp to move more weight. A regular Squat can be limited by a person’s core and lower-back strength or by a mobility issue, but these problems are eliminated with the Belt Squat.
By our calculations, Lamp is squatting close to 900 pounds, which is a ridiculous amount no matter what type of Squat you perform.
After an outstanding career at Western Kentucky, Lamp will likely be a first-round pick on April 27. The power he demonstrates on the Belt Squat should translate directly to the field on Sundays, when he’ll be charged with stoning some of the fiercest (and largest) defensive linemen in the NFL.
