Get release dates and updates on many of this year's most highly anticipated Xbox One and PS 4 games at STACK Gamer.

Since the Xbox One reveal, information on new games has been coming in almost hourly. Microsoft execs have been revealing tidbits in one minute, only to be seemingly contradicted by a higher-up five minutes later. Some execs have even contradicted themselves. It can all be a bit frustrating. This week, we cut through the noise to discuss games that have definitely been confirmed.

EA confirmed earlier this year that FIFA 14, Madden 25 and the forthcoming Battlefield 4 would be released for both PS4 and Xbox One. The NBA Live 14 at the Xbox One event marks a revival for the series, which hasn't released a title since 2009's NBA Live 10. A release date hasn't been announced, but the game is expected to arrive in late winter.

Most EA Sports Titles Coming to PS4 & Xbox One

EA confirmed earlier this year that FIFA 14, Madden 25 and the forthcoming Battlefield 4 would be released for both PS4 and Xbox One. The NBA Live 14 at the Xbox One event marks a revival for the series, which hasn't released a title since 2009's NBA Live 10. A release date hasn't been announced, but the game is expected to arrive in late winter.

EA Sports UFC is currently being developed on EA's new Ignite engine and will likely arrive in spring 2014. The big push for this game, however, places another series on hold. "Right now, a great portion of the core of the Fight Night team are actually the team that are building UFC," Andrew Wilson, head of EA Sports, told IGN. He didn't kill all hopes for a future Fight Night title, but interest in boxing has dwindled in recent years as the UFC has catapulted into the mainstream.

NHL 14 is noticeably absent from the EA list. Per Polygon, there currently are no plans to produce a new generation of the hockey game, Tiger Woods PGA Tour 14 or NCAA Football 14 this year. There is a (small) chance NHL 14 will join the others later, but Woods PGA 14 and NCAA 14 will remain solely on PS3 and Xbox 360.

Need for Speed Rival Coming to Old and New Consoles

Need for Speed Rival will be released for both current and next-generation consoles, but thus far, we only have a release date for PS3, PC and Xbox 360 (Nov. 21). Gamers have the option of playing as a cop or a racer in Rival. And for the first time in awhile, the Ferrari line is available. Online feature "AllDrive" will allow players to switch from playing solo to playing against friends; and "Autolog" will track players' accomplishments and allow them to challenge each other to races. Pre-order the game and pick up the Ultimate Cop Pack for free.

To Be Announced...

Developers have promised quite a few PS4 and Xbox One games, but so far, they've been slow to provide firm release dates. Call of Duty: Ghosts will hit shelves on Nov. 5 for PS3, Xbox 360 and PC. Its arrival for the next-gen is still pending, although it's expected before the end of the year. The Xbox One's Kinect will reportedly come in handy when you're barking instructions to your in-game canine companion, which will react to certain terms like "fetch" to do your dirty work.

Assassin's Creed 4 is set for Oct. 29 for the PS3, Xbox 360, PC and Wii U. Amazon has the PS4 and One versions set for Dec. 31, but that may be nothing more than a sign that we should expect it before the end of 2013.

Meanwhile Bungie's highly anticipated Destiny isn't expected to hit consoles until 2014. Check out the game's Jon Favreau-directed teaser to tide you over until more details come out during the E3 conference.
