17-Year-Old High School Receiver Donovan Peoples-Jones Is Already Posting Better Workout Numbers Than First-Round NFL Draft Picks
Get used to hearing the name Donovan Peoples-Jones.
A 6-foot-2, 190-pound rising senior at Cass Technical High in Detroit, Peoples-Jones is the top-rated wide receiver prospect in the Class of 2017. He’s only 17 years old, but Peoples-Jones already has the measurables of an NFL-ready prospect.
At last summer’s Nike “The Opening” camp in Oregon, Jones earned the highest SPARQ rating of any prospect. His results included a 42.4-inch Vertical Jump, a 4.00 20-Yard Shuttle and a 4.42 40-Yard Dash.

Had Jones posted those numbers at the 2016 NFL Combine, he would have had the highest vert, the fastest 20-Yard Shuttle and the third-fastest 40 of any receiver. Those are incredible numbers for a prospect of any age, but for a kid who’s still in high school? It’s unparalleled.
Peoples-Jones can also be seen performing a 55-inch Box Jump, and he recently dunked over three grown men to win his school’s dunk contest:
