2011 ESPY Awards Style Report
Award shows are great for athletes who want to step out of their uniforms and showcase their individual styles; and the ESPYs are widely regarded as one of the most fashion forward events of the year.
Below we present some of our favorite outfits from Wednesday night’s red carpet ESPY event. Some were as slick as we’ve seen, and others were as outrageous as they come—like San Francisco Giant Brian Wilson’s form-fitting tuxedo, shown above.
When building your big event wardrobe, take a cue from your favorite stylish pro athlete.
Denver Bronco Tim Tebow sported a checkered shirt with a black vest and purple tie. Not bad.
NBA Finals MVP Dirk Nowitzki went with the classic look of a traditional black tuxedo and tie. Just like his game, his wardrobe choice was solid. Nice job on the pocket square fold.
Wearing a more contemporary tux, Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers went head-to-head with the stylish Justin Timberlake. The monochromatic look came together with a fitted pant and jacket worn with a skinny tie. Kudos Mr. Rodgers.
2010-11 NBA Rookie of the Year Blake Griffin revealed sophisticated taste with a stylish three-piece, two-button gray suit and checkered tie. Well done!
Leave it to a flashy point guard like Oklahoma City’s Russell Westbrook to dazzle the crowd. We dug his sporty leather kicks and rolled up sleeves, which gave his casual outfit a youthful and fun spirit.
