400-Pound Former Baylor TE LaQuan McGowan’s Self-Evaluation is Not Even Remotely Humble
The NFL Draft is an elaborate and expensive crapshoot in which teams gamble millions of dollars on athletes whom they barely know outside of game film and perhaps an awkward Q&A session. One of the many inexact tools scouts use to evaluate college prospects is to compare them to players in the pro league, even though those comparisons are often wrong and arguably kinda racist. But regardless, now the prospects themselves are getting in on the action.
LaQuan McGowan, the tight end out of Baylor who made headlines because of his massive 6-foot-7, 410-pound frame, heaped an equally large amount of praise upon himself when he was recently asked to whom he’d compare himself. In Bleacher Report’s video series NFL Draftmen, the ginormous tight end described himself as having the size of ex-NFL defensive tackle Vince Wilfork and the hands of New York Giants receiver Odell Beckham Jr.
Since no tight end in history comes even remotely close to his size, the Wilfork comparison is fair enough. But with three touchdown catches last season at Baylor, McGowan has a lot of work to do before he can pull stunts like this:[youtube video=”5VFryd-Dt18″ /]

Grand comparisons aside, we’re hoping McGowan does get picked up on draft day. He’d be the largest person ever selected. Hear a little more from McGowan in Bleacher Report’s video below.
