A Yankee’s Prospect Had the Biggest Bat Flip Fail or All Time
When it comes to baseball, some fans enjoy the bat flip and others think it’s disrespectful to the game. If you are not a fan of the bat flip, you might enjoy what happened to New York Yankees prospect Jorge Mateo on Thursday.

During a spring training game against the Baltimore Orioles, Mateo made solid contact with a pitch in the sixth inning. Thinking the ball was gone, the 21-year-old shortstop started his home run trot and executed an obnoxious bat flip.

But the cocky bat flip ended up making Mateo look like a fool. The ball wasn’t hit hard enough to be a home run and was caught at the warning track.

Mateo did make up for his goof by hitting an RBI ground-rule double on his next at-bat, but maybe he will think twice before performing another bat flip. The Yankees beat the Orioles 8-1.
