Brett Favre Is Training for a 100-Mile Bike Race
When Brett Favre popped up a couple weeks ago to help Atlanta Falcons cornerback Robert Alford train during the offseason by launching bullets at him with his right arm, it was remarkable how fit the 47-year-old Hall of Fame quarterback looked. His hair was a little grayer, his movements a little slower, but the Green Bay Packers legendary great seemed every bit like a man who could still play a quarter or two of pro football.
It turns out Favre has kept his body in good condition by biking. Like, a lot. Favre has been riding his bike in Mississippi 100 miles a week for the last few months as he prepares for the Trek 100 taking place in Wisconsin in June. There, Favre will attempt to ride 100 miles in 5 1/2 hours, keeping a pace of 18 mph the entire way, according to the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel. Favre participated in the Trek 100 last year, though he rode only 47 miles. He supposedly loved it so much that he’s going for the full 100 in a few short months.
Favre keeps getting older, but the dude’s love of competition isn’t going to die out anytime soon.
