TRAILER: ‘Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare’ Coming in November
The new Call of Duty title was recently revealed slightly ahead of schedule. Advanced Warfare, which is being developed by Sledgehammer Games, will arrive in stores Nov. 4 for Xbox 360, XBO, PS3, PS4 and PC.
Check out the game’s trailer below.
Advanced Warfare, which has been in development for three years, is set in a future where technology and military practice have combined to create a new kind of war. Most military missions have been outsourced to private military corporations (PMCs). In the middle of it all: the villainous Johnathan Irons, head of Atlas Corporation, the largest PMC.
“Democracy is not what these people need. Hell, it’s not even what they want. People don’t want freedom. They want boundaries, rules, protection—from invaders and from themselves,” says Irons, voiced by actor Kevin Spacey. “People need a leader who can give them both the support and the constraints to keep chaos at bay. You give them that and they’ll follow. And that’s where I come in.”
Gamers take on the roles of advanced soldiers, who are “empowered with new, cutting-edge exoskeleton abilities, technological advancements and high-tech gear” and outfitted with updated weapons, including drones, hover bikes, spider tanks and infrared grenades.
Activision confirmed that DLC for Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare will, like its predecessors, be delivered to Xbox platforms ahead of the others.
