Chicago Bulls Forward Nikola Mirotic Has No Idea How to Do the Leg Press
Nikola Mirotic, the Chicago Bulls forward who burst onto the scene last year with his enormous beard and keen ability to stretch the defense with his 3-point shooting, is rehabbing from an emergency appendectomy in January. It has caused him to miss almost a month. He was supposed to be out until the All-Star break, but complications from surgery have pushed his return back.
Mirotic lost 15 pounds following surgery, but he recently had his stitches removed, which clears the way for him to jump into full rehab. This is good! The Bulls have struggled without him—and without Mike Dunleavy, another floor-spreader who has been rehabbing from injury. Getting one or both of these guys back should give a huge boost to a team currently mired in the seventh spot in the East.
Then Mirotic posted the above video to his Instagram. He’s doing the Leg Press, captioned #day3, and, oh, god, no, no, no. Stop immediately, Nikola! Where in the world is your trainer? The first thing everyone learns about this exercise is to never, ever lock your knees at the end. Who filmed this video and why didn’t they shriek in fear? We’re cringing just watching it, hoping Mirotic doesn’t do something horrible to his legs and send his rehab back to square one.
Someone on the Bulls training staff needs to get with Mirotic and correct his form.
