Professional sports coaches, in general, are smart people. Some are former players who studied the game as much as they played it. Others just have a passion for their sport and worked their way up the ranks, from video coordinator to assistant coach to head coach. But sometimes, when you’re smart, you tend to overthink things. And when a coach outsmarts him or herself on a major, in-game decision, the outcome is usually negative.
