Nike Unveils Uniforms for First College Football Playoff
The four teams that will play in the first College Football Playoffs are officially set, and Nike has wasted no time unveiling the uniforms each squad will wear for their opening matchups. Alabama, Ohio State, Oregon and Florida State all get updated threads with slight alterations as they try to look as fresh as possible on their quest for a championship.
No. 1 Alabama Crimson Tide
Alabama will wear a crimson jersey with white letters and numbers in their first-round matchup against Ohio State. The jersey features a “fractal diamond” swoosh above the front numbers. ‘Bama’s script “A” logo appears just above the numbers on the front of the jersey. White pants offset the top, featuring the same fractal diamond swoosh on the left leg.
No. 2 Oregon Ducks
The Ducks are known for their sometimes outlandish uniforms, so the all-green iteration the team will wear against Florida State is actually somewhat tame. The uniform features yellow numbers and letters, as well as a yellow “O” on either side of the helmet. The “Fighting Ducks” logo appears on the left shoulder of the jersey, and silver wings surround the neck. The pants also sport the words “Fighting Ducks” down either leg.
No. 3 Florida State Seminoles
Quarterback Jameis Winston and the Seminoles will don the garnet and gold uniforms they’ve worn for most of the year. Each shoulder of the jersey features gold Seminole symbols for an arrow, a man on a horse and fire.
#4 Ohio State Buckeyes
OSU will rock scarlet jerseys with gray stripes on each shoulder, offset by white numbers and lettering. Gray pants play off the gray helmet, which also features a scarlet stripe down the middle.
Head over to Nike to get a more in-depth look at every piece of the uniforms, from cleats to gloves to baselayers.
