The snow has melted and it’s finally spring again. That means one thing: baseball season.
To get into the spirit of America’s favorite pastime, Tampa Bay’s Evan Longoria teamed up with SKLZ to create “Batting Cleanup: SKLZ Guide to Hitting with Confidence,” a video series offering 30 ways baseball players can improve their skills in just 30 days.
Throughout March, SKLZ shared one of Longoria’s tips each day. The series covers every aspect of baseball training, from dynamic warm-ups on Day 1 to recovery on Day 30, with tips related to mindset, plate discipline, and reading pitchers interspersed throughout.

On Day 3 of the 30-day roundup, Longoria offers advice on proper mindset. He believes that the key to a productive baseball mentality is a daily routine. “Overall, when I have a routine that I know is pretty concrete,” he says, “it takes away all of the pressure of performance, of worrying about what other people are doing, worry about if I’m doing the right things. I can lean on that routine and not have to worry about anything else.”

Throughout the series, Longoria shares secrets that have led to his success as one of the best hitters in the league for the past seven years.
