Floyd Mayweather Tops ‘Forbes’ Wealthy Celeb List
Forbes released its annual list of top paid celebrities.
Unsurprisingly, coming off his long-awaited, record-shattering bout with Manny Pacquiao, Floyd Mayweather holds the top spot, raking in an impressive $300 million. Pacquiao came in second; he pulled $125 million for the bout and earned additional money through endorsements from Nike, Foot Locker and others.
Katy Perry’s Prismatic World Tour landed her in third place on the list. The pop star earned more than $135 million from the tour, merchandising and endorsements.
Other musicians included One Direction, who came in fourth with $130 million, Garth Brooks at No. 6 with $90 million, and Taylor Swift and her latest boyfriend Calvin Harris, who pulled in $80 million and $66 million, respectively for the Nos. 8 and 17 spots, respectively.
Diddy was the highest rapper/producer on the list at No. 21. He pulled in about $60 million before taxes due to his partnership with Ciroc, DeLeon and TV network Revolt. Jay-Z dipped from 6 to 28, earning $56 million, and his wife, pop-star Beyonce, dropped from the top spot to No. 29 with $54.5 million.
Dr. Dre, fresh off 2014’s $620 million mega-haul, pulled in $33 million this year and fell to the 73rd spot. Pharrell made $32 million from his hit singles and other ventures, including appearances on The Voice. Drake popped up on the list for the first time, grossing $39.5 million after an impressive run of festival headlines. Comedian Kevin Hart reappeared this year after dropping off in 2014. He pulled in $28.5 million from a comedy tour and roles in films like Get Hard and The Wedding Ringer.
