Get in the Zone With ThisSongIsSick.com
Athletes know the importance of music for motivation before a game or during a workout. Last week, we talked about how music can actually improve your workout.
If you ever start dragging your feet or feeling like you’re listening to the same old tracks over and over, you may want to check out ThisSongisSick.com.
The site was started by University of Colorado, Boulder student Nick Guarino, who wanted to share his love of music and hoped to broaden people’s musical taste beyond radio hits. Guarino says, “Although formed from the college music scene, the site is meant to showcase all sorts of music.” Songs on the site range from hip hop to rap to electronic and feature well-established artists, plus tons of up-and-coming names.
Check out the Mixtapes section of the site for workout tracks.
One of the best aspects of the site: most of the songs can be downloaded for free.
For a taste of the type of hip hop/electronica mash-ups on the site, here’s Paper Diamond with a Dubstep remix of Kanye West’s serious pump-up jam “Power.”
And here’s another song to get you moving: “O Let’s Do It [Heroes + Villains Remix]” by Waka Flocka.
Send us some of your favorite workout songs by tweeting us at @STACKMedia. And if you’re down with ThisSongisSick.com, you can connect with Guarino at @thissongisNICK.
