Gaming Update: ‘Gran Turismo 6,’ ‘WWE 2K14’ and ‘Batman: Arkham Origins’
New installments for Gran Turismo and WWE were announced last week, and Warner Bros. released a teaser for its extension of the Batman franchise.
Gran Turismo 6 Coming This Holiday Season
The next version of Gran Turismo will arrive just in time to stuff into Christmas stockings. The game will launch with an impressive collection of 1,200 vehicles, including many favorites from the game’s predecessor versions. GT6 will include all the courses from GT5, plus seven new locations and an updated game engine that will increase the developer’s flexibility for future DLC.
“I am very pleased with everything about the new game and the new additions, but the launch will only be the beginning for Gran Turismo 6,” said producer Kazunori Yamauchi. “The game will continue to develop throughout its life.”
Part of that development may include a PS4 version. For now, it will only be released for the PS3. Watch the announcement trailer below. A demo clip will be released in July.

Take-Two has announced plans to release WWE 2K14 on October 29 for Xbox 360 and PS3. The publisher obtained the rights to the series in an exclusive five-year deal just as WWE’s former collaborator THQ was undergoing bankruptcy. Though the new game’s naming scheme will change to align with other sports-related games from 2K Sports, it is still being developed by Japan-based Yukes.
WWE 13, which featured CM Punk on the cover, was released on October 30 last year. It received favorable reviews from most critics. Details surrounding the 2K14 title have not been released, but rumors suggest that The Rock could be on the cover.
Warner Bros. Releases Teaser for Batman: Arkham Origins
Warner Bros has released a nearly five-minute trailer for the upcoming Batman: Arkham Origins. The video features an epic battle between Batman and Deathstroke on a snowy night.
Arkham Origins, created as a prequel to 2011’s Arkham City and 2009’s Arkham Asylum, finds Batman at a young age creating his identity in Gotham. After honing his fighting skills against some of the city’s minor criminals, the masked hero comes into the crosshairs of villains far more experienced than he is. Batman must adapt quickly to survive without the help of the police, who still aren’t sure what to make of him.
The Penguin and Alberto Falcone are slated to be villains in the game—in addition to Deathstroke and main antagonist Black Mask, who puts a bounty on the good guy’s head.
Arkham Origins will be released on October 25 for Xbox 360, PS3, Wii U and PC.
