‘GTA 5’ PC Release Arriving Early 2014?
How soon can we expect a Grand Theft Auto 5 release for PC? Rumors suggest it will hit in early 2014.
GTA 5 is currently available only for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. The rumors about a PC platform surfaced after PC Gamer interviewed Chris Silva, director of marketing for Intel’s Premium Notebooks, who talked about how “damaging it could be for this former PC IP not to hit our gaming rigs.” He also said, “At least with Grand Theft Auto, I don’t think it’ll be console-exclusive very long.”
If the GTA 5 PC release follows GTA 4‘s console-to-PC timeline, it will be available in early 2014. Adding to the speculation, Nvidia at first suggested the PC conversion could happen as early as this fall. However, Nvidia’s European PR manager, Ben Berraondo, issued a statement to Eurogamer, making it clear that Nvidia “does not have information on any possible PC version release of Grand Theft Auto or its availability. We deeply regret the error.”
More than 603,000 GTA fans have signed an online petition asking Rockstar Games to release GTA 5 for the PC. Rockstar has not yet responded, presumably because the company is too busy solving problems related to the debut of GTA Online.
Rockstar remains silent regarding a GTA release to a PC platform.
