Heisman Favorite Christian McCaffrey Maintains His Six-Pack Abs Despite Chowing Down on Burger King

The Stanford running back is a 2016 Heisman Trophy favorite and also a finalist for worst diet.

Christian McCaffrey, the son of former Denver Broncos wide receiver Ed McCaffrey, is very good at football. At Stanford last season, the running back put up video game numbers, rushing for over 2,000 yards and adding 645 receiving yards. At just 6 feet tall and 200 pounds, McCaffrey relies on his shiftiness and speed to elude defenders, which he did early and often en route to a historical 2015 campaign.

As he readies himself for the 2016 season, McCaffrey will inevitably be one of the favorites to win the Heisman Trophy, which mean he'll attract a whole lot of attention, whether he's ready for it or not. The hoopla has already begun. Folks have been going crazy over how in shape he is, especially in the abdominal region, as seen above in the above photo from a recent Pac 12 media day event, when he attempted to try on his jersey in front of a crowd of people.

McCaffrey's build shouldn't come as much of a surprise. He's become known for his feats in the gym, including surviving Stanford strength and conditioning coach Shannon Turley's freshman gauntlet, which included a VersaClimber "death march," an obstacle course and 10-yard fight, in which two players, attached to each other with resistance bands but facing opposite ways, must pull the other 5 yards ahead to win the competition.

McCaffrey has dominated workouts so thoroughly that Turley now reportedly designs workouts just for him, separate from the rest of the team. He's even gotten his body fat percentage down to 4 percent.

"He's unlike anybody we've ever had," Turley told ESPN.

McCaffrey's diet hasn't quite caught up with the strictness of his workouts, though, which makes his physique even more impressive. He has been known to chow down on Burger King, as he did on his way to that Pac-12 media day where he showed off his abs. He also enjoys hitting up Coldstone Creamery and Mongolian Barbecue for late night eats.

His eating habits clearly haven't had much of an effect on his body yet.
