The 3D action-adventure film Hercules: The Legend Begins brings to life one of the most famous and exciting of the Greek myths. In this film, set in Ancient Greece, a queen who cannot resist the allure of Zeus gives birth to a son destined to overthrow a tyrannical king and usher in a time of peace. Hercules, unaware of his true identity as the son of Zeus, loves Hebe, Princess of Crete, despite the fact that she has been promised to his brother. Hercules must choose between running away with the woman he loves or fulfilling his monumental destiny.
Starring as Hercules is Kellan Lutz, best known for his role as Emmett Cullen in The Twilight Saga. The film also features Scott Adkins (Zero Dark Thirty), Liam McIntyre (Spartacus: War of the Damned), Johnathon Schaech (The Client List) and Roxanne McKee (Games of Thrones). Playing Hercules' true love is Gaia Weiss (Mary Queen of Scots).
The movie is directed by Renny Harlin, who made a name for himself in the 1990's by directing movies like Die Hard 2 and The Long Kiss Goodnight. His recent work includes the TV series Burn Notice. The screenplay was written by Sean Hood (Conan the Barbarian) and Daniel Giat (Path to War).
Hercules: The Legend Begins will be released in both 3D and 2D on Jan. 10, 2014.
