James Harrison Took His 7th ‘Random’ Drug Test of The Year
If the NFL’s drug testing is truly “random,” James Harrison might be the unluckiest player in the entire league.
Earlier today, the 38-year-old Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker was notified that he had to take a random drug test. According to Harrison, this was his 6th or 7th random test this year:
“6th or 7th random test this year and some guys haven’t been tested randomly at all. . . I wish I had this much luck [with] the lottery!!!,” Harrison writes in the caption.
Harrison has his reasons to think the NFL might be intentionally targeting him. Prior to the season, he was accused in an Al-Jazeera report of using performance-enhancing drugs. He’s never officially failed a league drug test, however; and after meeting with league officials, he was allowed to play this season. He’s also been a longtime vocal critic of Roger Goodell, previously calling him a “crook” and a “devil.” There’s also the fact that he’s still an absolute monster in the weight room. When you’ve played in the NFL for 14 years and you’re still doing this kind of stuff, you’re going to raise some eyebrows:
As long as Harrison’s in the NFL, he should probably expect his “unlucky” streak with random drug tests to continue.
