WATCH: Four Days After Being Cleared for Training, J.J. Watt is Already Throwing Down Monstrous Dunks
If the NFL is full of athletic freaks, how exactly does one categorize J.J. Watt?
The Texans’ defensive end is the freakiest of the freaks. The outlier of the outliers. The 1 percent of the 1 percent. Quite simply, no athletic feat seems beyond Watt’s grasp. He proved that once again this morning by posting a video of himself throwing down a monstrous jam.
Watt’s size certainly makes this impressive—he’s a tall dude at 6-foot-5, but he also weighs nearly 300 pounds. At that weight, getting serious hang time seems to defy the laws of physics. But what really makes this dunk truly spectacular is that Watt did it just a few days after being cleared to work out again.
RELATED: J.J. Watt’s Insane 61-Inch Box Jump
Back in January, Watt suffered a groin injury during Houston’s AFC Wildcard game against the Chiefs. He had surgery to repair the injury shortly after the Texans were eliminated from the playoffs, and he’s been busy rehabbing ever since. Four days ago, he was cleared to start full training sessions again. Although he has a long way to go before he regains his full strength and athleticism, Watt is already hammering down thundering dunks with ease. If this is what he’s capable of doing on day four, can you imagine what we’ll be seeing from Watt in the coming weeks?
Also, Watt would look pretty good in a Rockets uniform. Just saying. They could use the help.
