Justin Timberlake Already Working On Next LP
Earlier this week, Justin Timberlake released The 20/20 Experience, his first album in over six years. (JT released the single “Suit & Tie” from the album months ago.) But the crooner will not make his fans wait more years for his next project.
Last week, drummer Questlove wrote a post on his website suggesting that Timberlake was in the studio working on another album, projected for release in November 2013. The singer recently confirmed this news (sort of) during an interview with Ryan Seacrest. “Let me clear a rumor up,” said JT. “The news that this is only the first half of the album, that’s true. That’s all I’m gonna say!”
Even without a firm date for the album’s “second half,” JT’s fans should definitely be pleased. The rapid follow-up may have been influenced by the success of The 20/20 Experience. According to Billboard, the record is flying off the shelves—selling 800,000 copies in its first week.
One thing is sure: Timberlake will have a busy year! In mid-July, he is slated to embark on a tour with rapper Jay-Z, the only guest on his latest LP. (See Jay-Z and JT Prepare for Co-Headlining Tour.) The two will co-headline a stadium tour that will take them to New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, Boston and Philadelphia—as well as to an appearance at the 2013 Wireless Festival at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in London.
