Kobe Bryant Presses Pause on Father Time, Throws Down Vintage Dunk
Most of the commentary about Kobe Bryant this season, his last in the NBA, is about how bad he looks on the court. His shot has abandoned him, his legs lack the lift they once had, yadda, yadda, yadda. You can be sure Kobe hears the haters, and last night he decided to show them that, yeah, he may be 37 years old and reduced in ability, but he can still dunk.

In the third quarter of a game against the Houston Rockets, Bryant received the ball behind the 3-point line on the right side of the court, blew past Rockets guard Trevor Ariza and threw down a nasty one-hander over 6-foot-9 forward/center Clint Capela. Even players on the Rockets bench were taken aback, as if to say “wow, who knew the old man could still dunk?”
Although Bryant’s farewell tour has been sad at times, his game has picked up of late; and this dunk was an emphatic reminder that he can still ball with the best of them, forget about his age.
