Korn's New Album "The Path of Totality" Experiments With Dubstep (Preview)
Korn is back on the scene with an upcoming album called The Path of Totality—and they’re diverging slightly from their normal sound. The band’s 10th album (set to release on Tuesday, Dec. 6) will be heavy on the dubstep, thanks to a collaboration with DJ Scrillex, 12th Planet, Kill the Noise and other dubstep producers. You might have heard Korn’s recent single “Get Up!” (with Skrillex) this past summer.
Lead singer Jonathan Davis has words for those who object to the band’s latest evolutionary stage: “Some people are so stuck in 1994.” (That was the year Korn released their self-titled debut album.)
Don’t worry. Korn didn’t completely abandon their angsty sound, but they did refine it. Just as you channel your negative emotions and aggression into your efforts on the playing field, Davis pours his pain into his lyrics and their recitation. Check out the album preview below.
