But as a member of the U.S. Olympic Men’s Basketball Team, Kyrie has a new star-studded cast around him. From Klay Thompson to DeMarcus Cousins to Carmelo Anthony, Team USA has plenty of elite ballers. But who does Kyrie enjoy playing with the most?
At a recent media availability during the team’s training camp in Las Vegas, STACK asked the three-time All-Star exactly that. His answer? Kevin Durant. Kyrie explains:
“I mean, he’s Kevin Durant. He is who he is. What’s crazy is me and him have an unbelievable connection through a few people. I’d seen how beautiful his game is as a player, but I’d heard he was an even better person. I’m looking forward to the chance to get to know him as a person.”
Throughout the practice that followed the media session, Kyrie and KD were attached at the hip. The two followed each other throughout all the shooting drills, competing in an epic game of one-upmanship. Though neither will pull any punches when they face off this season, their relationship adds another element of intrigue to the Cavaliers-Warriors rivalry.
