Athletes in training typically think they are making progress when they use heavier weights. In fact, success is not measured by how much you can lift. It's about how well you lift. Using proper form on exercises ensures that the moves affect your body as they are supposed to, and don't cause injury in the process. To achieve perfect form, you may have to use lighter weight.
