LOOK: Rory McIlory Wears Black and Gold Kicks to Honor Kobe Bryant at The Masters
As he took to the golf course in Augusta, Georgia for the opening day of the 2016 Masters Tournament, Rory McIlroy paid tribute to a man thousands of miles away. With Kobe Bryant’s final game as a Los Angeles Laker rapidly approaching, McIlroy and other Nike athletes are rocking black and gold shoes in honor of the Black Mamba.

McIlory headed to the first hole in a pair of Nike golf shoes with Lunarlon cushioning, sporting a white upper with black on one side of the mid foot, stretching from the sole to the laces; a shimming gold Nike swoosh on the toe box; and “4/13” written in Sharpie across each heel to commemorate Bryant’s final game, which will take place on April 13.
Look for other Nike athletes such as Kyrie Irving, Mike Trout and Carly Lloyd to rock black and gold shoes in the near future as the brand says goodbye to one of its biggest and most iconic athletes.
