Game Trailer: RPG ‘Lords of the Fallen’
Square Enix recently announced a release date for Lords of the Fallen. The RPG title will hit shelves Oct. 31 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. Check out the trailer below.
The game takes place in a world where “the Gods have failed mankind” and puts players in the shoes of Harkin, a male anti-hero forced to take up arms against the Fallen God in an attempt to save society. The storyline is impacted by player choices. Gamers can select among three character classes—cleric, rogue or warrior, each with its own special moves and armor. Spells are available to players specific to their character’s class. Spells are quite deadly, but they can only be used a limited number of times.
Earlier reviews compared the game to Dark Souls; and during a recent interview with Polygon, creative director Jan Klose admitted to being “a big fan” of the series, adding, “We didn’t want to have this mainstream game where it’s really easy, and everyone can play it, and it throws cutscenes at you. We really wanted to have a challenging experience. There’s only one difficulty mode [in Lords of the Fallen]. It’s ‘difficult.'”
