Markieff and Marcus Morris’s Gift Locker
Markieff Morris was born seven minutes before his twin brother Marcus, on Sept. 2, 1989.
Since then, the brothers have been virtually inseparable. They shared a bedroom growing up in Philadelphia and an apartment (with separate bedrooms) while playing at Kansas. They now live in the same home in suburban Phoenix, where Markieff earned the right to claim the master bedroom after beating Marcus in Madden 2013.
Since reuniting as members of the Phoenix Suns, the Morris brothers have caught fire. (Marcus was originally drafted by the Houston Rockets and was traded to the Suns in February 2013.)
Markieff says, “The bond that we have is unbreakable. We’ve played together our entire lives. We push each other and know that we’ll always have each other’s back.”
Marcus adds, “It’s just the chemistry. Playing with somebody you’ve been playing with your whole life makes you more comfortable and it makes the game a lot easier.”
Their level of comfort and ease isn’t just displayed on the court; it’s also reflected by the gear and apparel in their lockers.
No, the brothers don’t share a locker. If they did, Marcus says, it would have “Team F.O.E” on the nameplate. That stands for “Family Over Everything.”
What items would be stored in the Team F.O.E. locker? We’ve added the brothers’ selections of shoes and training apparel to the Dick’s Sporting Goods Gift Locker pictured above. Nike LeBron XI Basketball Shoe
Marcus: “LeBron is a big guy. He’s 6’9” and I’m about the same height, and if the shoe was designed to fit the type of player that he is—being that big and as agile as he is—then it definitely works for me.”
Nike Shield Nailhead Full Zip Hoodie
Markieff: “I like the Nike sweatshirts and hoodies. I’m all about comfort whether I’m on or off the court.”
Nike Shield Nailhead Training Pants
Marcus: “I like to wear the pants when I’m running outside or if I’m riding the bike before practice.”
Nike Men’s Elite Warm-Up Jacket
Markieff: “I like to wear long-sleeve shirts at practice or when I’m working out. I don’t like to wear too much compression gear.”
