Nike Free Run+ Launches on NikeiD
Since the first launch of the Nike Free shoe in 2004, runners of all levels have used the shoe to enhance their natural running motion. And now you can flaunt your individual style with the Nike Free Run+. The shoe releases on April 4, but it is available now for customization on the NikeiD website. Options include a mix of uppers and outsoles and your choice of colors and designs.
The recognizably lightweight upper provides a breathable “glove-like” feel with Dynamic Fit construction. The overlays are seamless, but perforated specifically to allow more form-fitting movement along with the foot. The lacing is asymmetrical, offset to the lateral side of the foot, reducing pressure on the top ridge of the foot.
Enhancing the foot’s natural motion, the various cuts along the shoe’s midsole and arch are placed just so to ensure flexibility while promoting stability and foot strength. While the Phylite midsole is minimalist, it is durable enough to double as the shoe’s outsole. The actual outsole is made of Abrasion-resistant BRS 1000 carbon rubber—sturdy, but responsive—with “waffle-pistons” to absorb impact and supply spring. But the shoe is still incredibly light, weighing in at just 7.7 ounces.
The Free Run iD is available in men’s and women’s styles at Nike.com for $130.
