Nike Zoom Ja Fly Racing Spikes Preview
For your spring/summer 2012 running spikes, check out a new Nike entry: the Zoom Ja Fly. Intended for competitive runners at all levels—high school, collegiate and professional—the Zoom Ja Fly provides exceptional traction and an extra boost of power behind each step.
The lightweight, minimal support system contains tensile fibers that release tension upon impact and quickly return to their original state to provide responsive cushioning and high energy return. The fibers constitute the foundation for the upper material construction—Nike Flywire technology—which is strong, durable and designed to give targeted support that helps lock the foot down into position.
The synthetic veil skin upper bonds to the Flywire materials, so the foot remains snug, secure and supported in the Zoom Ja Fly. The design enables a dynamic fit for optimal mobility. The perforated tongue (for ventilation) has a layer of padding (for comfort), plus it ups the ante on the “snugness” factor.
The mid-sole is a low-profile Phylon wedge that allows for smooth transitioning in the foot. On the front of the outsole, the spike plate has an aggressive eight-receptacle and riser arrangement, delivering optimal traction and a firm base for pushing off on the track.
The Zoom Ja Fly’s striking and bold colorways complement the runner’s speed. The shoe is available at the Nike store for $125.
