‘Now You See Me 2’ May Put the Four Horsemen on the Defensive
The Four Horsemen called the shots in Now You See Me, as they swindled a shady businessman and made America fall in love with them. But in Now You See Me 2, the group will find themselves on the defensive against a new enemy while also trying to pull off their greatest heist to date.
It sounds like a classic tale of revenge. According to reports, Daniel Radcliffe is joining the series as the son of Arthur Tressler (Michael Caine), the insurance magnate and onetime sponsor of the group who was ultimately betrayed by them.
Caine will reprise his role in the sequel. “I shoot in December, the whole of December in London, and my son is Harry Potter,” said Caine during an interview with HeyUGuys. “I thought it’d be funny, me and Daniel Radcliffe as father and son.”
After seeing the foursome in action, we’re sure that Tressler’s son will be hip to at least some of their tricks and won’t make their escape easy. But is it ever a good idea to pick a fight with a group of illusionists?
Radcliffe’s character may have another advantage, however. The Four Horsemen, portrayed by Jesse Eisenberg, Dave Franco, Woody Harrelson and Isla Fisher, will be down a team member—The High Priestess (Isla Fisher) won’t be in the film since the actress is currently pregnant with her third child with Sacha Baron Cohen. Masters of Sex actress Lizzy Caplan is expected to fill her shoes.
Now You See Me 2 will materialize in theaters June 10, 2016. Jon M. Chu (GI Joe: Retaliation) is taking over the directing duties from Louis Leterrier.
