New Project From ‘The Hangover Part II’ Writer Coming Soon
Screenwriter Scot Armstrong, known for such memorable comedies as The Hangover Part II and Old School, makes his directorial debut with the wacky farce, Search Party.
This buddy comedy centers on Nardo, played by Thomas Middleditch (The Wolf of Wall Street), who strangely goes from standing at the alter with the woman he loves to—24 hours later—being stranded in the Mexican desert wearing nothing but a pair of gold leggings. Nardo is forced to call his best friends Jason and Evan to rescue him. And when Jason and Evan set out to save their pal, they embark on a mission that turns into one crazy and dangerous road trip.
Jason is played by T.J. Miller (Transformers: Age of Extinction). Adam Pally (TV’s The Mindy Project) portrays Evan. Raising Hope’s Shannon Woodward stars as the female lead, playing Nardo’s girlfriend Tracy, who somehow also ends up in Mexico. The colorful ensemble cast also features Alison Brie (Mad Men), Krysten Ritter (Breaking Bad) and Jason Mantzoukas, seen earlier this year in the hit comedy, Neighbors.
The original screenplay was written by newcomer Mike Gagerman and Andrew Waller, best known for directing American Pie Presents Beta House. The script was later rewritten by Scot Armstrong.
Search Party makes its way into theaters Sept. 12, 2014.
