Jamie Foxx and Benicio Del Toro Join Forces for Thriller ‘The Trap’
Hollywood A-listers Jamie Foxx and Benicio Del Toro are teaming up for the revenge thriller The Trap. Described as a gangster drama, the movie centers on a pair of childhood friends, now grown men, who followed very different paths in life.
Writing and directing the movie is controversial filmmaker Harmony Korine, whose feature film breakthrough came when he wrote and directed another crime drama, the 2013 James Franco and Selena Gomez flick, Spring Breakers.
The Trap is being produced by John Lesher (End of Watch) and Charles-Marie Anthonioz, who previously worked with Korine on Spring Breakers and other projects.
The Oscar Award-winning Foxx has been busier than ever lately. Following the premiere of The Amazing Spider-Man 2 and Rio 2 earlier this year, he has two more features slated for release by the end of 2014—Horrible Bosses 2 in November and a remake of Annie, just in time for Christmas. The equally prolific Del Toro also has several exciting projects in the works, including the recently filmed drug cartel drama Sicario with Josh Brolin.
The Trap is expected to begin shooting in early 2015.
