Tim Duncan Is Already Back With the Spurs, But As a Coach
San Antonio Spurs legend Tim Duncan couldn’t stay away from the team. Duncan retired in July, but only as a player. It’s only been a few days since NBA training camps have started, and Duncan is already back as a coach.
During Wednesday’s practice, the 5-time NBA champion made an appearance at the Spurs’ practice facility and, according to head coach Gregg Popovich, he was the “coach of whatever he wants to be.”

After 19 seasons with the Spurs, it’s understandable that Duncan doesn’t want to leave. The Big Fundamental can be extremely helpful to the Spurs, especially coaching the younger guys. According to My San Antonio, Duncan has already been coaching up some of the younger guys, including Dewayne Dedmon.
“I need to talk more, communicate more on defense,” Dedmon said Duncan told him. “I’ll be doing that next time.”
We are pretty sure this is only the beginning of Duncan’s non-playing basketball career.
