Kevin James Headlines ‘The True Memoirs of an International Assassin’
Kevin James is set to star in the big screen action comedy The True Memoirs of an International Assassin. The movie will be directed by Jeff Wadlow, a filmmaker who knows something about action comedy, having directed Kick Ass 2.
James plays a mild-mannered accountant and aspiring author who writes a novel about a fictional international assassin. The publisher decides to label the book nonfiction, causing readers to mistakenly believe that the author is a killer for hire. In an effort to escape the sudden fame and celebrity thrust upon him, the writer travels to Belize, where things go from bad to worse when he becomes entangled in a real life assassination plot. In order to survive, he must find a way to channel lead character Colt Rodgers and transform himself into the protagonist he created.
The original Black List screenplay was written by Jeff Morris. The project is a follow-up to Morris’s feature film screenwriting debut with another comedy, You Did What?.
One of the film’s producers, Todd Garner, said, “Kevin and I are very excited to team up with PalmStar and Merced on True Memoirs. This is going to be a fun, action-packed ride and will definitely show a side to Kevin that nobody has ever seen.”
Production on The True Memoirs of an International Assassin is expected to begin in September.
