Ty Dolla $ign and Rich Homie Quan Recording a Joint Album
Under the Influence tourmates Ty Dolla $ign and Rich Homie Quan have reportedly started working on a joint project.
Ty confirmed the news during an interview with Houston radio station 93.7 The Beat, telling host Devi Dev, “The Rich Homie thing wasn’t supposed to happen. . .We like ten songs in. We gon’ do that with [DJ] Drama. It’s probably gonna be called Rich Homie Dolla $ign, ya feel me?”
They haven’t determined whether the project will be released as a mixtape or hit retail stores, but the Los Angeles rapper will have no shortage of material dropping in the meantime. He is slated to release a collaborative album with YG and DJ Mustard in the near future; his mixtape $ign Language dropped this week; and his debut LP Free TC is expected to hit shelves in early 2015.
“Me and YG and Mustard low-key are about to do an album together,” said Ty to NEHipHop. “The Pu$haz Ink, the label album, you know? We’re getting a label deal and s***. So that’s gonna be the first project we release. We always wanted to do it. Now we’re gonna get paid to do it.”
The mixtape will reflect what unfolded while Ty was on tour with RHQ, and the album will contain more serious material. “My album’s called Free TC. It’s more about some serious s***, but I just completed another mixtape that I’m about to drop, just because I’m doing all these songs,” he added. “It’s definitely influenced by the tour bus, and a lot of it was done on the tour bus.”
