Watch Kentucky Wildcat Hoopster Get His Teeth Stuck In the Net After Huge Alley-Oop In Slow Motion
The defending NCAA champion Duke Blue Devils took on the Kentucky Wildcats this week in the 2015 Champions Classic. As the game went on, it was clear that the Blue Devils were no match for the Wildcats.
The game highlight was a massive alley-oop dunk. With around seven minutes left, Kentucky senior forward Alex Poythress went up for a dunk off a nice dish, jumping so high he could kiss the rim. He didn’t exactly kiss the rim, but his teeth got stuck in the net on his way down. If you missed it while watching the game, here it is full speed.
It looks even more painful in slow motion. You can see his head snap back from the net.
It appeared that Poythress was fine once he landed on the floor, but you can tell from his face that it did not feel good. Here’s a photo with the best view from the Wildcats’ Instagram. You can bet the next time Poythress dunks, he will keep his mouth shut and wait to celebrate until he’s back on his feet.
