At Martin High School in Arlington, Texas, Garrett stood 6-foot-4 and weighed 250 pounds. Twenty pounds lighter than his college weight, Garrett was faster and just as explosive in high school. They tried double-teams, chop blocking and even holding, but nothing could stop the freight train from coming.
According to MaxPreps, Garrett had 20.5 sacks and 39 tackles for a loss in 13 games during his senior year. The Under Armour All-American was a stud on special teams too. He blocked seven punts in the first seven games of his senior season. Garrett finished high school ranked the No. 2 player in the nation.
