Colin Farrell Time-Travels in Fantasy Film, 'Winter's Tale'

The star-studded fantasy movie Winter's Tale, set in both 1916 and a mythic present-day Manhattan, centers on a battle between good and evil. Colin Farrell plays a thief named Peter Lake who falls in love with dying heiress Beverly Penn (Jessica Brown Findlay). When he learns that he possesses the gift of reincarnation, Lake tries to save Beverly's life. At one point, a mysterious white horse saves him from the clutches of a vicious gang led by his old boss, the crazy Pearly Soames (Russell Crowe).

Rounding out the cast are big name actors Will Smith, William Hurt, Jennifer Connelly and the legendary Eva Marie Saint (On the Waterfront).

Oscar Award-winning screenwriter Akiva Goldsman makes his directorial debut with this film. Goldsman also wrote the screenplay, which is based on the 1983 novel by Mark Helprin.
