Wolverine, Kitty Pryde and Warpath Confirmed For Upcoming X-Men Sequel
The number of mutants featured in Bryan Singer’s upcoming X-Men sequel, Days of Future Past, continues to grow. Singer has long hinted at the return of Wolverine, who has since branched out into his own franchise, but it wasn’t confirmed until the director recently tweeted a picture of Hugh Jackman on the set of Days of Future Past.
Also seen in Singer’s twitpics was Ellen Page, who will once again suit up as Kitty Pryde. Page last appeared in 2006’s The Last Stand. A short Vine clip from the director places Blink, James “Warpath” Proudstar and Lucas Bishop in the lineup as well.
The ever-expanding cast and lack of plot details have fans nervous about whether Singer can include everyone without making the movie feel crowded and forced. But there will undoubtedly be some huge fight scenes, which is probably where most of the cast will get their screen time, so let’s not worry just yet.
The upcoming flick, reportedly based on “The Uncanny X-Men” issues #141 and #142 from 1981, will introduce time travel as it pulls characters/actors from First Class and previous installments. Anna Paquin, Halle Berry, James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, Nicholas Hoult, Sir Ian McKellen, Sir Patrick Stewart, Peter Dinklage, Omar Sy, BooBoo Stewart and Fan Bingbing are among the confirmed cast members.
Days of Future Past is slated for a July 18, 2014 release.
