Zac Efron Stars in Comedy ‘That Awkward Moment’
Zac Efron headlines That Awkward Moment, a comedy that also stars Miles Teller (The Spectacular Now) and Michael B. Jordan, who won praise for his performance in last summer’s Fruitvale Station. The film centers on three friends, each struggling with his current relationships with women.
This romantic comedy twists the genre, looking at relationships from the guy’s perspective instead of from the female point of view. It attempts to dispel the myth of complete certainty when someone finds a person who is “right” for him. The story should appeal to a large audience, because most of us have had the experience of coming to a fork in the road in a relationship and not knowing which way to turn.
The film also stars Jessica Lucas (Evil Dead), British actress Imogen Poots (A Late Quartet) and newcomer Mackenzie Davis, whose most recent work includes the crime drama, We Gotta Get Out of This Place.
Tom Gormican, best known for producing Movie 43, wrote and directed the picture.
That Awkward Moment, rated R for language and sexual content, premieres in theaters Jan. 31, 2014.
