Check Out Nike Basketball’s ‘Royalty Collection’ For All-Star Weekend
Earlier this week we gave a you an initial glimpse of what Kobe Bryant’s final NBA All-Star Game shoe will look like. Now we get an official look at Nike’s entire “Royalty Collection” of kicks for the upcoming weekend in Toronto.
Inspired by the Toronto’s “royal origins,” All-Stars LeBron James, Anthony Davis, Paul George, Kevin Durant, and of course, Kobe will each get a distinct colorway of either their own signature shoe or the shoe they have predominantly worn this season. Let’s run through them.
LeBron 13
With its muted green colors on the upper, the LeBron 13 “All-Star” has a military feel, but it’s actually supposed to remind us of the colors of the long Toronto winter. Gold speckle throughout the upper and around the swoosh are probably the best of the shoe’s design elements.
KD 8
The KD 8 “All-Star” gets a crazy, multicolored treatment with blue, orange, yellow, white and red mixing with each other throughout the upper. The colors are supposed to represent the myriad of flags in and around Toronto, symbolizing the city’s diversity.
Nike Hyperlive
The kicks Paul George will rock during the All-Star Game, the Nike Hyperlive features a candy-red upper matched with a maple sole and finished off with the Toronto maple leaf stitched into the tongue.
Nike Air Audacity
The Brow, a.k.a., Anthony Davis, will lace up a gray, blue and yellow pair of the Nike Air Audacity. The upper is made of heathered textile, and the words “Fear The Brow” appear on the visible Nike Zoom Air pocket that wraps around the heel.
Kobe XI Elite
With its black, gray and turquoise upper, meant to represent the Northern Lights, the Kobe XI Elite also features molded leather on both the tongue and the heel for a classy touch.
You can grab your favorite shoes from the Royalty collection when they all hit retail on Feb. 11, a day before All-Star Weekend.
