Adam Sandler and the Gang Return for ‘Grown Ups 2’
Adam Sandler, Kevin James, Chris Rock and David Spade are coming back together for Grown Ups 2, a sequel to the team’s surprise 2010 box office hit.
After all the fun he had a few summers ago when he and his kids visited the small town where he grew up, Sandler’s character Lenny decides to move his family back to his hometown permanently. He soon discovers that in addition to fun, the town has a lot of craziness. This time around, he has to deal with both old and new bullies, crazy bus drivers, insane girlfriends, drunk cops on skis and much more.
Besides starring in the film, Sandler is one of the movie’s producers, and he co-wrote the screenplay with Fred Wolf and Tim Herlihy. The ensemble cast also features Salma Hayek, Maya Rudolph and Maria Bello, all of whom were in the original film. Rob Schneider will not return for the sequel due to scheduling conflicts. Various celebrities make special appearances, including Shaquille O’Neal, sportscaster Michael Kay and Arnold Schwarzenegger’s son Patrick.
Grown Ups 2 is directed by Dennis Dugan, who helmed the original Grown Ups. Dugan’s long history with Sandler includes directing Happy Gilmore, Big Daddy, I Now Pronounce You Chuck & Larry and Just Go With It.
Grown-Ups 2 will premiere July 12. Check out the trailer below.
